Networks

Your company can be assigned to networks which determine the providers and prices that appear on the company’s portal. In most cases, the company portal is configured for the Care Connect Network.

The concept of a network is used to create a group of offerings (i.e. providers, procedures, and prices) that are available to a given user. A user's association with a network determines the offers available to that user. When MDsave admins take prices live for a provider, they select a specific network.

Users associated with a company can see offers from all the networks that the company is linked to when logged in for that company. If the user has access to multiple companies, they must select the company to see the offers from the networks that the specific company is linked to.

When a care navigator searches for a procedure and there is an offer from a single provider for a procedure in two or more networks available to the company, each of those offers will appear in the results. The offers may look and may be duplicative, but sometimes there are slight differences either in the price or the components of the bundle.

When we add your company to Care Connect, you are automatically assigned to Care Connect Network. Your account manager will need to remove that network if it is not desired for your company.

An example of reasons why this may be the case is if a hospital has a direct relationship with your company and brings your employers to Care Connect. The hospital may not want those employers to have the ability to shop other providers. In that case, your care navigators will be given access to what we call a “narrow network” for the hospital and remove the Care Connect Network from the company. A “narrow network” will provide a user experience where the user only has access to offers in that single network when it is selected.

Your account manager can add information about the narrow network that will display on the default home page for care navigators when they select the narrow network.
