Complications and Healthcare

BLIScare

Tendo Marketplace has partnered with Leavitt Risk to offer an add-on complication insurance rate for some bariatric and general surgery procedures. Physicians choose whether to include BLIScare into their bundles. If a complication occurs, the physician is responsible for submitting the complication to BLIS so that BLIS can work with all parties included in the complication care. If a physician decides to include BLIScare in their bundles,  the BLIS insurance fee will display in the Price details.

How to Report a Complication to BLISCare

  1. Patient presents with a possible complication. The BLISCare Surgeon confirms and diagnoses a complication.

A notice of claim must be given within 48 hours or as soon as reasonably possible.

Send an email to claims@leavittrisk.com including:

    1. Full name and DOS for the patient
    2. Date of complication
    3. Diagnosis of the complication
    4. Which covered complication to apply the claim to
  2. Leavitt Risk Partners will request an itemized bill, UB-04 and medical records (ex. admissions/discharge summary and/or operative reports).
  3. The claims will be reviewed promptly, after receiving required documentation. If the complication is emergent, do not hold up care for approval.
  4. Claims situations may vary, and additional documentation may be requested.
  5. Leavitt Risk Partners will work behind the scenes to pay the bills.

Adding a Physician or Procedure to our BLIScare Offerings

Please reach out to Tendo Support at support@tendo.com. We will need to get the provider’s full name and the facility if you are adding a physician, or the procedure name for adding a procedure.
