Assistant Surgeons

A surgical assist is not included in a bundle unless it was previously contracted with. If an assistant surgeon will always be used in a procedure, Tendo works to get that assistant contracted into the bundle. Assistant surgeons are reimbursed by Medicare at 16% of the physician fee schedule.

Labs in Office Visit Bundles

Labs are not included in office visit bundles. Some office locations utilize third party vendors (LabCorp, etc.) to process their labs. If the office uses the hospital, they should have the patient add labs to be performed at the hospital into the cart.

When an Outpatient Procedure Turns into an Inpatient Procedure

Tendo works with all parties to add the voucher Inpatient Stay due to Outpatient Surgical Complication. This procedure should be used for the additional fees that are incurred for the complication and inpatient stay. The procedure is built on a case-by-case basis and should be removed once the patient has purchased it.
