Adding New Procedures

Tendo Marketplace generally recommends that providers utilize our existing procedure bundles, which are part of a catalog of common procedure definitions. It is easier for patients to shop for and compare providers if their procedures have these common definitions.

However, the following is the process for requesting that new procedures be added to Tendo Marketplace:

  • You as a provider request the addition of a procedure that doesn’t correspond to an existing procedure bundle. Tendo researches the request.
  • If the requested procedure can be created as a bundle that would likely be used by other providers, Tendo will create the new procedure bundle and make it available in Search on the public mdsave.com marketplace and on Care Connect.
  • If the requested procedure is a custom one that is unlikely to be used by other providers because of a unique package of services that you want included in it or a requested unique or branded name, Tendo will create the procedure so that it will be available for you to offer to patients at your facility through shared patient carts. Custom procedures can be listed on the relevant System, Group, and Provider pages of mdsave.com and Care Connect, but will be excluded from appearing in the site search. You can market the procedures by directing patients to their pages. In cases where a requested custom procedure is a combined procedure, such as Gastric Sleeve with Hiatal Hernia Repair, the patient typically adds both procedures to their cart and receives an MPPR (Multiple Procedure Payment Reduction, which reduces the payment for certain services when multiple procedures are performed on the same patient on the same day) on the second procedure performed on the same day.

Exclusions for Procedures

Tendo tries not to add new procedures that include third party billing. Examples might be Holter Monitoring and Cardiac Event Monitoring.

If there is no third party that bills the patient (i.e. the hospital owns the devices and performs the monitoring), Tendo can add these procedures. To add new procedures, contact your account manager.
