Integrating with the Care Connect API
The Care Connect GraphQL API allows your company to develop your own application or interface integrated with your internal system to create workflows that interact with our mdsave.com platform. Your company can purchase care from our marketplace for your employees directly on your platform of choice, integrated into the workflow that works best for you.
The API enables an Employer or TPA partner to interact with the mdsave.com platform to perform actions such as:
Search for offers by location, provider or CPT® codes - You can build a unique search experience for medical procedures that can index our entire marketplace and that is customized by location, provider network, specialty and more. You can use the API to power autocomplete search functionality on your own platform to surface Tendo Marketplace procedures by name.
Create shopping carts for procedure bundles - You can create shopping carts with unique URLs that are pre-loaded with procedures and patient information and send links to the carts to patients so they can purchase vouchers for their procedure or a navigator can purchase for them.
Complete Checkout - Using the API, patients and care navigators can complete checkout transactions and generate vouchers that they can use to pay for the services rendered by providers with a Checkout process. Types of checkout that can be done with the API include:
- Tendo fully invoices - The procedure is paid for by the partner, and no checkout view is required for the patient.
- Partner collects payment and Tendo invoices - The partner handles payment collection directly from the patient, using their own existing checkout workflows. Tendo invoices the partner for the full price of the purchase.
- A link is provided to the patient so that they can check out - The API is used to generate a checkout link that is provided to the patient, who can then complete the purchase via Tendo using credit card, Care Credit, or PayPal.
- Credit Card - The partner collects a credit card number and provides it to Tendo to complete checkout. The checkout experience is hosted by the partner, and Tendo is responsible only for processing the transaction.
- Retrieve Data About Previous Voucher Purchases - You can use the API to retrieve this data, including the current status of voucher purchases. Links to PDF versions of the vouchers can be automatically emailed to patients, and you can see all previous purchases in your internal portal. A voucher that was just purchased through the checkout shows a status of Available. Once the patient receive care and Tendo receives payment for it from your organization, the Voucher will go into Used status.
- Purchase a shopping cart through an invoicing process.

Purchases made through the API are completed through an invoicing process. Your account manager or sales rep can provide you with more information about how we can fit our invoicing process with your existing workflows.
Note that this API supports Care Connect and TPA partners, but not provider transaction. However, if you are interested in developing a provider integration with MDsave, contact your Sales Rep or Account Manager about what you would like to accomplish, and we can work with you.
